The Fine Books and Manuscripts departments of Bonhams & Butterfields on the West Coast, and Bonhams on the East, are leaders in the sales of collectible printed and manuscript material. They hold four general sales a year—winter, spring, and fall—two simulcast between Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as two sales a year in their New York offices. Sales feature early printed material, maps & travel literature, natural history, art & illustration, fine bindings & fine press, literature, Americana, world history, and the 20th century. They also hold specialty or single-owner sales when appropriate.
